This is the Patrick Toohey Jr Family. Man with beard is Patrick Toohey Jr,son of Patrick Toohey Sr. and Mary. His wife, Elizabeth Coumans(Toohey) has the cloth in her hand.She is the daughter of Jane Sargeant(Coumans) and John Coumans Sr. Their daughter, Mary Toohey, (far left,born 1858) married Edward Hennessy, son of William Hennessy and Mary Neil, on Feb 25, 1878 at Chepstow(R.C.). Their daughter on the far right, is Jane Toohey(born August 14, 1871 died Feb 17, 1950 in Fairgrove, Michigan). She married Timothy Patrick Sheridan(born Nov 20, 1867 at Fairgrove, Michigan and died Oct 30, 1935, Fairgorve, Michigan). The young girl is a grandchild, Sarah(McMillan). The boys are the Toohey sons.

This is Jane Sargeant(Mrs. John Coumans Sr.) who was born in Ireland about 1805. Her husband, John Coumans Sr. petitioned for Land in New Brunswick on Jan 16, 1827 on the Miramichi River. In that petition he stated he was married and had one child. Further, he stated that he had lived in the province for 7 years. He also is believed to have come from Ireland. Jane was a convert to Catholicism. About 1830 another child, Simon Coumans, was born to them in New Brunswick. He married in Chepstow, Bruce County, Greenock Township in 1856 to Mary O'Farrell. Jane and John Coumans daughter, Elizabeth Coumans, was also married in Ontario(either Chepstow or Guelph) on Sept 8, 1856 to Patrick Toohey Jr. Their daughter, Jane Toohey, born in Ontario married Timothy Sheridan in Caro, Michigan. I descend from their son, Thomas Michael Sheridan (1905-1975) who married Beatrice Dolores Trudeau on June 27, 1933 in Midland, Michigan.
